Reservations

Reserve one or more rooms for outside use. The scheduler will reduce the number of rooms available at that location during those hours.

Extras

Choose how lessons should be distributed across the week.

Scheduling preference weights

Use whole numbers from 0 to 10; 0 ignores that preference.

How to think of the default weights?

Case 1

If you manage to limit one teacher's days from 4 per week to 3 per week, you get +5 points.

If, because of this change, another teacher must teach 5 classes when his preferred maximum was 4 classes, you get -6 points.

Therefore the scheduler will not accept such tradeoff. If, on the other hand, you change the weight of the weekly workload to 4 points, the scheduler will accept such tradeoff.

Case 2

If you pair together teachers who want to teach together for 2 classes, you get 4 points x 2 = 8 points.

Therefore the scheduler would accept the tradeoff of one unnecessary teacher day, or one class below or above the preferred teacher limit.

The scheduler always enforces these rules:

  • Limit gaps between lessons. A teacher may have up to 15 minutes between lessons on the same day.
  • One location per day. A teacher cannot teach at multiple locations on the same day.
